We started our volunteer-run organization in the first few weeks of the pandemic when we learned how much food insecurity had dramatically increased in our city. We get together every Sunday to cook delicious and nutritious meals. During the week, our Cafewal Culinary Training program provides instruction and real-life experience for people looking for entry-level kitchen positions around the city. Our East Village kitchen is a very welcoming environment and a place where you can help some of the most challenged populations of NYC. We can’t wait to welcome you there!
