Let’s Talk About It: The Power of Healing is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, founded to support adult survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Our organization was created to provide a safe and supportive space where survivors can heal, rebuild confidence, and regain stability after trauma.
We serve survivors of all genders, races, and backgrounds, with a focus on low-income individuals and families who face barriers such as housing insecurity, lack of resources, and limited support systems. Our work is rooted in compassion, empowerment, and community accountability. We believe every survivor deserves access to safety, stability, and the opportunity to rebuild their life with dignity.
Our organization provides survivor-focused support services including community outreach, peer support, education, goal planning, resource connection, and ongoing advocacy. We also provide housing support and referrals to help survivors access safe living environments.
A major focus of our expansion is the Healing Homes Project, an initiative designed to create affordable housing and homeownership opportunities for survivors who are ready to transition into long-term stability. Healing Homes aims to remove housing barriers by developing new construction homes and partnering with community organizations, banks, and supporters to help survivors achieve safe, stable housing.
Our mission is to create real change by supporting survivors not only emotionally, but also through long-term solutions that lead to independence and security.
