Our mission is to create a space of everyday support for families impacted by diabetes in Central Florida.

    About Us

Our Founder Christina was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 13 years old, and it was a scary and confusing experience. The concept behind Type Zero Foundation began as a high school club by Christina, a high school sophomore, and her best friend, Juliana. The two wanted entire family systems to learn about diabetes, feel supported, and learn how to dance, as a way to cast diabetes in a more positive light rather than a negative one. Turning it into a non-profit, five years later, was the next step in reaching parents, children, siblings, significant others, and friends too.

We are here to create a physical environment where families can feel safe, understood, and inspired while hanging out with other families impacted by diabetes. Learning how to exercise with diabetes, cooking healthy meals, accessing healthy meals, and having mentors through life's biggest challenges with diabetes. This place will soon feel like another home that people can go to anytime. Together, with the support of people and organizations in the community, we will make sure that no other kids and families experience the trauma of diabetes as Christina did.
