  • Mission

Queens Lane Sanctuary provides lifelong refuge for rescued horses and donkeys with creating opportunities for humans to reconnect with compassion, presence and healing. We believe horses deserve to be valued not for what they provide, but for who they are. Here horses are not defined by utility, but recognized for their individuality, resilience, and spirit. We offer a safe haven where they are nurtured, rehabilitated, and celebrated as sentient beings deserving of respect, understanding, and a life free from unnecessary expectation. Our sanctuary also welcomes humans seeking healing and connection. Through gentle, trauma-informed, and non-riding experiences with horses, we create opportunities for reflection, emotional growth, and restoration. We believe in the transformative power of the human-horse bond beyond the saddle. Together, we are building a community grounded in compassion, connection, and healing.

    About Us

Our horses and donkeys come from Bureau of Land Management round-ups, from environments where they were abused, from homes where they either could no longer be cared for or where they had outlived their usefulness to their owners. When volunteers sign up for a weekly shift at QLS, they play a vital role in our mission of rescue, care, and education. Their dedication strengthens our efforts to show the world the profound healing and connection possible between humans and horses.
