Balakun

To empower Ukrainians - especially those who remain in the country and defend it - by providing access to knowledge, language skills, and international connections through a global network of volunteer mentors and practical learning opportunities.

The purpose of the Balakun community is to connect Ukrainians and allies through learning and mentorship, where meaningful connections, an environment of dignity and collaboration enable Ukrainians to find the tools and people they need for a free and strong Ukraine. Our activities include:

1. Facilitating one-on-one language practice and mentoring sessions, especially focusing on English learning for Ukrainians in Ukraine.
2. Organising group speaking clubs and special interest groups around topics such as politics, culture, humor, gardening, and others.
3. Supporting collaborative projects such as writing initiatives, podcasts, and other creative or educational endeavors that serve the community.
