    About Us

Sage Compassion for Animals, founded in 2019, seeks to keep pet families in the Bay Area together. We are a non-profit organization that prevents suffering and euthanasia by providing financial assistance to qualified families for their companion animals in medical crisis. The potential consequences of being unable to afford veterinary care are terrible for all involved: Animals get sicker or die, or families give them up to shelters. When facing a pet emergency, families often make the worst choice of all. Each year, thousands of pet owners and their veterinarians face the excruciating decision of economic euthanasia: having to put their beloved companion to sleep solely because they cannot afford treatment for a preventable or treatable condition.

We also provide education and outreach to help people and communities throughout the nine-county region better understand how to prevent and reduce illness in their pets. We envision a world where pet parents have access to the health care and knowledge they need to give their beloved companion animals the best lives possible.
