  • Mission

BASK works to close the gap between young people having meaningful ideas and having the resources and opportunities to pursue them. We empower students ages 12–17 worldwide to develop businesses, nonprofit initiatives, and community projects by providing accessible competitions, practical experience, visibility, and pathways to take action—regardless of their location, financial circumstances, school resources, or existing connections.

    About Us

BASK is a youth-led nonprofit organization helping ambitious young people turn ideas into action.

Many students have ideas for businesses, nonprofit initiatives, technology projects, creative ventures, and solutions to problems in their communities. However, talent and motivation alone do not always provide access to funding, professional networks, supportive school programs, or a clear place to begin. These barriers can prevent promising ideas from ever being tested.

BASK was created to make those opportunities more accessible.

We serve students ages 12–17 from around the world, including students who may not have prior entrepreneurial experience, established connections, or access to well-funded programs. We believe a young person’s ability to pursue an idea should not depend on where they live, the school they attend, or the resources already available to them.

Our primary online program, BASK Pitch, is a free global pitch competition held every month. Students can present an original business, nonprofit, or project idea, strengthen their communication and project-development skills, gain visibility for their work, and compete for a share of $1,000 awarded each month.

BASK also provides young people with opportunities to contribute to real organizational work in areas such as content creation, community building, graphic design, and nonprofit operations. Participants are encouraged to take ownership, collaborate responsibly, and develop skills through meaningful work rather than symbolic titles.

Our work is guided by accessibility, initiative, creativity, inclusion, and student leadership. We aim to help young people become confident problem-solvers who can create economic, social, and community value through the ideas they pursue.

Ultimately, BASK exists to reduce the distance between “I have an idea” and “I have the opportunity to build it.”
