AGAPE CHILDREN FOUNDATION -Uganda

  • Mission

To contribute towards raising the level, quality, and equity of health and care services and advocate for the next generation in Uganda through increasing access, advocacy, empowerment, and working with other development actors.

    About Us

Agape Children Foundation is a community-driven, grassroots nonprofit dedicated to advancing the well-being, dignity, and future opportunities of vulnerable children and women in underserved rural communities. Rooted in compassion and guided by a strong belief in equity and human potential, the foundation works to break cycles of poverty through education, health, and empowerment initiatives.

At the heart of our work is Agape Educational Center, a Christian-founded but inclusive school that serves children from nursery through primary level. Located in a quiet rural setting along the shores of Lake Victoria, the school provides a safe, nurturing, and values-based learning environment for children who would otherwise face significant barriers to education.

    Who We Serve

    We primarily serve:

    • Orphaned and vulnerable children
    • Girls at risk of dropping out of school due to poverty and menstrual health challenges
    • Women and adolescent girls lacking access to basic reproductive health information and resources
    • Low-income families in rural communities with limited access to quality education and social services

Our beneficiaries are often from marginalized backgrounds where access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunity is limited or inconsistent.

    Our Core Values

    • Compassion (Agape Love): We believe in unconditional care and service to humanity, especially the most vulnerable.
    • Equity & Inclusion: We serve all individuals regardless of religion, gender, or background, ensuring fair access to opportunities.
    • Dignity: Every child and woman deserves respect, safety, and the ability to thrive.
    • Empowerment: We invest in long-term solutions that equip individuals with knowledge, skills, and confidence.
    • Community Ownership: We work closely with local communities to co-create sustainable and culturally relevant solutions.

    What We Do

Our programs focus on three key pillars:

    1. Education Access & Support
    2. We provide affordable, high-quality education through subsidized school fees, scholarships, and a supportive boarding environment for children in need.
    3. Girls’ Education & Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM)
    4. We address one of the leading causes of school absenteeism among girls by providing menstrual health education, reusable sanitary products, and safe spaces for learning and support.
    5. Women’s Empowerment
    6. Through skills training and social support initiatives, we help women build economic resilience and become active contributors to their families and communities.

    Our Vision

A future where every child has access to quality education, every girl can stay in school with dignity, and every community is empowered to uplift itself.

    Our Approach

We believe lasting change happens when solutions are locally led, inclusive, and practical. By combining education, health, and empowerment, we tackle root causes—not just symptoms—of poverty and inequality.
