Our mission is to educate the public, advocate for greater support for animal welfare, and secure resources for the rescuers that save animals' lives every day.

Animal Coalition is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to supporting animal rescues and improving animal welfare in Contra Costa County. Every day, dedicated rescuers spend their own time and money caring for abandoned kittens, injured animals, and vulnerable pets. Most people never see it. Most people never hear the stories.

Like the man who found a box of newborn kittens abandoned in a dumpster. With nowhere else to turn, he called a local rescue. Because someone answered that call, those kittens survived.

Animal Coalition is working to make sure more stories end that way.

We raise awareness, advocate for greater support for animal welfare, raise funds for lifesaving programs, and help ensure that rescuers have the resources they need to continue their work. We believe that when people understand what is happening behind the scenes, they will stand up for animals who cannot speak for themselves.

Our volunteers help spread awareness, share information, and encourage community members to make their voices heard. The work is simple, flexible, remote, and meaningful. One conversation can lead to one email. One email can become thousands. And thousands of voices can create real change for animals who need it most.
