The SLANG Global Project

SLANG Global is a rapidly growing international nonprofit promoting the Spanish language and Afro-Latin cultures of Latin America, the Caribbean, and the USA in West Africa. With headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Enugu, Nigeria, we serve as a cultural and educational bridge across continents. Through a mix of local and global programs, we connect diverse communities and create transformative experiences that inspire, educate, and empower.

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 🎯 Our mission is to foster cross-cultural understanding and empower communities through Spanish language education and cultural awareness. We highlight the rich histories and contributions of the Spanish-speaking African Diaspora across Latin America, the Caribbean, and the USA. By connecting these cultures with Nigeria and West Africa, we build lasting bonds rooted in shared heritage.

We envision a world where language, culture, and education are powerful tools for equity, opportunity, and transformation. Our efforts especially focus on uplifting women and girls in Igbo-speaking regions through intercultural exchange, academic programming, and workforce development.

SLANG Global (The Slang Global Project) is a Delaware 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2021 at the intersection of language, culture, and community. We believe the connections between West Africa and Latin America are not accidental. They are historical, cultural, and deeply human. Our work makes those connections visible and meaningful.

From El Centro Cultural Azúcar, our cultural center in Enugu, Nigeria, we run Spanish language instruction, the MASK-WE women's entrepreneurship program, and a growing calendar of cultural events and exhibitions. In North America, we develop online education, digital programming, and partnerships that bring Nigeria's story to a global audience.

We are a lean, remote-first organization with a big mission and a long horizon. If you're drawn to work at the crossroads of Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean, SLANG Global is where that work lives.
