  • Mission

Read 4 Unity exists to ensure every child has access to books that reflect diverse voices and stories. We work to eliminate book deserts by providing culturally relevant literature—books that serve as both windows into new worlds and mirrors that affirm identity. Through partnerships, community engagement, and advocacy, we strive to build early literacy skills and foster a lifelong love of reading for all children.

    About Us

    About Read 4 Unity

    Who We Are:

Read 4 Unity is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting literacy equity by ensuring that every child has access to books that reflect diverse voices and stories.

    Our Values:

    • Equity: Every child deserves access to culturally relevant books.
    • Representation: Books should serve as both windows into new worlds and mirrors that affirm identity.
    • Community: We believe in collaboration with schools, libraries, and local partners to create lasting impact.

    Whom We Serve:

We focus on children in book deserts—communities where families and schools have limited access to books. These areas often face economic challenges that impact early literacy development.

    What We Do:

    • Donate brand-new K–8 books by BIPOC authors.
    • Install Little Free Libraries in underserved neighborhoods.
    • Partner with schools and community centers to build classroom libraries.
    • Host book fairs and literacy events to engage families and educators.

    Our Impact:

Since our inception in 2020, we donated over 17,000 books, installed 55 mini libraries, and partnered with 11 sites across Georgia and beyond to bring books directly to children who need them most.
