PFLAG Los Angeles is dedicated to creating a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. Our work focuses on three pillars: education, advocacy, and support.

A volunteer-powered nonprofit, PFLAG LA has served the Los Angeles community continuously since our first meeting on March 8, 1976. Founded in response to the urgent need for family support and LGBTQ+ advocacy, PFLAG Los Angeles grew from a small gathering into a trusted resource for thousands. To this day, we remain dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and their families, educating the broader community, and advocating for equal rights. Over the decades, we've played a key role in defeating discriminatory legislation, promoting inclusive policies, and expanding public understanding through media, public testimony, and publications. We continue this work today through programs like our monthly support groups (General, Gender Focus, and Español), a robust Speaker’s Bureau, and community education efforts that foster connection, affirmation, and lasting change.
