Jolene's Retreat

At Jolene's Retreat, our mission is to rescue animals in need and give them the chance to live out their lives in peace, comfort, and unconditional love where they are free to be who they are. By sharing their stories, we aim to raise awareness of the suffering so many animals endure and empower others to help create a more compassionate world for all species.

Jolene’s Retreat is a small, hands-on animal sanctuary in Sonoma County, California, providing rescued farmed animals with a safe, permanent home where they can live with dignity, compassion, and respect.

We believe every animal is an individual with their own personality, emotions, and ability to form meaningful relationships. Our rescued pigs, chickens, ducks, and cow receive lifelong care and are treated as individuals rather than commodities.

As a grassroots nonprofit, we accomplish a great deal with limited resources. Our work is personal and hands-on, and every volunteer, supporter, donor, and community partner makes a meaningful difference.

Beyond providing sanctuary, we strive to educate others and inspire a more compassionate understanding of farmed animals. We welcome people who share our commitment to compassion, respect, responsibility, and creating a better life for animals.
