American Civic Power

American Civic Power is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that builds civic education tools and technology to help everyday people understand and engage with their local and state government. We believe an informed, engaged citizenry is the foundation of good governance, and we're working to make participation in democracy more accessible through public education, data transparency, and civic technology.

American Civic Power grew out of years of hands-on civic organizing and government-accountability work on Long Island, including public records investigations and community advocacy. Our flagship project, CivicSphere (mycivicsphere.com), is a civic technology platform offering free public tools such as a campaign finance dashboard, a payroll transparency database, a property tax analyzer, and a tool for contacting elected representatives.

We're an early-stage organization currently building out our founding board of directors. We serve residents, voters, and civic-minded organizations who want clearer, easier access to information about how their government works and spends public money. We welcome board members and volunteers who share a commitment to transparency, civic education, and strengthening democratic participation — no specific credentials required, just genuine interest in the mission.
