    Description

    This is currently a volunteer position. Contributors will gain hands-on experience building real-world AI systems for public health impact.

    About the Role

    This is an unpaid volunteer leadership position supporting the architecture and deployment of production-grade LLM systems for healthcare and public health impact.

    Commitment

    • 5–10 hours per week
    • Remote
    • Flexible schedule

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years software engineering experience
    • 2+ years hands-on experience building LLM applications
    • Experience with RAG systems and vector databases
    • Experience with cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

    Responsibilities

    • Lead architecture of AI chatbot systems
    • Mentor junior engineers
    • Guide model evaluation and performance optimization
    • Advise on responsible AI practices
