  • Mission

Our Mission and Our Vision To advance the conservation of birds in Wisconsin and throughout the Western Great Lakes Region through coordinated research, monitoring, and education. We envision a day when knowledge of birds is widespread, decisions affecting them are based on good science, and citizens care about conservation and participate in it so that common species are kept common and imperiled populations are restored.

    About Us

Community Scientist & Community Event Volunteer Needs

We are recruiting volunteers and community scientists to help us with the Neighborhood Habitat Improvement Project, which aims to improve residential areas for birds, pollinators, and water quality. There are a variety of options for how volunteers can help, participate in science, and learn more about our native plants, birds, and pollinators at the same time!

If one of these positions seems like a good fit for you and you are ready to help us out this year, please sign up for more information.

While you do not need to live in Port Washington, MOST activities are in Port Washington at this time. Please let us know if you are interested in volunteering in other communities. We are actively expanding our programming in lakeshore communities and will let you know when opportunities become available.
