Jacaranda Rising
Mission
Jacaranda Rising is dedicated to empowering at-risk transition-age adults (18-24) in Los Angeles County by providing them with the tools necessary to thrive independently. We achieve this through a collaborative approach that combines life skills training with compassionate support in a welcoming and encouraging environment.
About Us
Jacaranda Rising supports transition-age young adults (ages 18–24) who are exiting foster care and/or experiencing homelessness as they work toward stability, independence, and a hopeful future. Participants live in transitional housing programs throughout Los Angeles County while navigating the challenges of adulthood—often without the consistent support systems many young people rely on.
Through partnerships with local housing programs, Jacaranda Rising provides life skills workshops, job readiness training, mentorship, college application support, school supplies, interview attire, birthday celebrations, and community-building events. Volunteers play a vital role in creating meaningful connections and opportunities for these young adults. Whether mentoring, leading a workshop, helping at events, or simply showing up with encouragement, volunteers help participants feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. Together, we are building a community where young adults can grow in confidence, develop practical skills, and move toward long-term self-sufficiency.
