    About Us

Madagascar Research and Conservation Institute (MRCI) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the preservation and sustainable management of Madagascar’s unique ecosystems. Based on the island of Nosy Komba, MRCI runs a range of conservation and community development programs focusing on marine and forest conservation, turtle monitoring, English teaching and community development.

Whether monitoring endangered sea turtles, restoring coral reefs, reforesting mangroves, or teaching English in remote villages, our participants gain hands-on experience, cross-cultural exposure, and the opportunity to make a real impact.

We work in partnership with local communities, schools, and government institutions to ensure that our efforts are sustainable, ethical, and aligned with the needs of the people and ecosystems we serve.
