To bring strength and healing to children with special needs and the San Francisco community through the love and care of horses; to encourage young people in compassion and leadership through volunteerism.
What we do:
Since 1987, the Brady Riding Program has been bringing the benefits of horsemanship to individuals in need, helping to build confidence, muscle strength, postural control, coordination, communication, trust, perspective, and social skills. We welcome participants as young as 4 and have no age limit as long as there are no physical or medical implications. Programs and lessons are adapted to meet the needs of each individual participant.
Our Facilities:
Located on a dedicated area within the San Francisco Zoo, Brady has a private entrance offering a serene, low stress start to sessions. Participants enjoy a peaceful setting in a natural environment where they engage in therapy, connect with horses, and volunteers while family members and caregivers can relax, sip some tea and chat with our team. Home to our horses, the property includes a barn, arena, sensory trail and turnouts.
Our Volunteers:
Working alongside our team are dedicated volunteers. We are proud of the hundreds of adults and youths who offer time and essential services to enable the success of our programs, care for our horses, and maintain our grounds and barn.
